Kendriya Vidyalaya Happy Valley celebrated National Science Day


 Kendriya Vidyalaya Happy Valley celebrated National Science Day in the school campus on 28 th

February 2022 commemorate the discovery of the ‘RAMAN EFFECT’. This day was designated

the NSD in 1986. The event was inaugurated by the Principal D.K. Deran and Vice Principal K.

Ramesh lighting the lamp and paying respect to Sir C.V. Raman, the great Indian physicist,

along with the teachers, staff members and the students. The students of the Vidyalaya took an

initiative towards building the healthy environment of the school and gifted some plants for the

plantation drive of our Vidyalaya.

The event was organized by the science department of the Vidyalaya involving some science

students as volunteers.

After the commencement of the event MR. HARSHAWARDHAN MANDLEKAR PGT

Physics delivered a short speech on the ‘Raman effect’ followed by Arun Kumar Sah’s (TGT

Science) speech on the life and contribution of Sir C.V.Raman

Music teacher Ravindranath along with PGT Physics exhibited the inevitable association

between music and physics and innumerable efforts of several scientists was shown through the

demonstration of standing waves and beat formation in a spring and tabla respectively.

The event was carried forward to PGT Chemsitry Sunil Vodela, through the demonstration of

interesting, eye catchy science experiments. Exciting chemistry experiments with several student

volunteers were organized.

Scientific achievements of our school students were highlighted which made us all proud to be a

part of this amazing platform which provides us with extremely beneficial opportunities to learn

and grow. Let us take a moment to appreciate DEVANJALI BAIDYA (CLASS IX C) who got

selected for REGIONAL LEVEL 29th NATIONAL CHILDREN SCIENCE CONGRESS 2021

for displaying an amazing idea of the use of expiry medicines as fertilizers and was successfully

guided by PGT Chemistry Sunil Vodela of our school.

VICTOR DAS (CLASS VII B) who got selected for an INSPIRE Award of amount


Rs. 10000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) for year 2021-2022 for presentation of science project

/ model and to participate in the District Level Exhibition & Project Competitions (DLEPCs) and

was guided by Sunil Vodela PGT Chemistry.

MANNATH MONDAL (CLASS VIII B) got selected for an INSPIRE Award of amount

Rs. 10000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) for year 2020-2021 for presentation of science project

/ model and to participate in the District Level Exhibition & Project Competitions (DLEPCs) and

selected for evaluation of SLEPC under INSPIRE AWARDS- MANAK SCHEME, under the

guidance of Arun Kumar Sah TGT SCIENCE.

Moreover to entertain the audience a quiz was conducted by Preeti Awasthy TGT

Science.

At the end the event was concluded by Vice Principal K Ramesh on the NSD along with

it he motivated the students to explore science and learn about it as science is the most crucial

part of our lives

The event held in our school surely made all the attendees realize that Science and magic both

release the happiness and curiosity in our minds where magic suppresses truth and science

proclaims it with genuine and mind-blowing proofs.
