 Meghalaya Transport Corporation night (MTC) night bus coming from Tura to Shillong crashes

An MTC night bus traveling from Tura to Shillong plunge into the Ringdi River at Nongchram today at 12.00 Am. Rescue team from Rongjeng and Williamnagar Fire and emergency services rushed to the accident site for helping the victims. 

Five people have been confirmed dead other injured are being shifted to Rongjeng PHC for medical assistance. Rescue attempts are on to save lives. The river had swollen due to rain with strong current. As per the list collected from concerned counters there were 9 (nine) passengers from Tura and 12 ( Twelve) passengers from Williamnagar. Concerned family members may called to williamnagar police control for assistance.
