4 killed, 70 injured as 2 buses collide head-on in Tamil Nadu; CM announces compensation

s many as four people were killed and 70 injured in a fatal road accident where two buses collided head-on in Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district.

The accident occurred at Pattambakkam near Nellikuppam, killing in Cuddalore district. Two private buses were traveling between Cuddalore and Panruti. The front tyre of one of the buses burst, leading to loss of control and a head-on collision with another bus coming on the opposite side.

The injured were taken to Cuddalore Government Hospital by the commuters before ambulances arrived.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those undergoing treatment.
