Training Program for Oil India Executives at National Law University
A Three-day Training Programme for Executives of Oil India commenced in the
online mode at National Law University and Judicial Academy Assam on 21
December 2021. The programme was initiated with brief inaugural session by
Ms. Arati Das, General Manager (HR) of Oil India.
The Chief Guest Hon’ble Mr. Justice Soumitra Saikia while emphasising the
need for such training programs, placed on record his appreciation for
initiatives taken by the University to conduct a capacity-building event on
mines-related laws; something least explored by the legal profession. Lordship
stated that mining is a sovereign function, and the mining activities must be
undertaken with utmost care as the officials of company may be held
criminally liable for any lapse or negligence.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. V. K. Ahuja explained vulnerability out of mining activities
for those engaged in the activities and those around as local residents. Prof.
Ahuja stated the need of compliance to statutory security standards and legal
parameters. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Registrar Dr.
Indranoshee Das, followed by the technical sessions.
