Rohingya family arrested in Tripura, had entered India through Dawki, Meghalaya


 Tripura police have detained a family of six, including four children, in the state's Unakoti area.The police have arrested a family of Rohingyas for unlawfully entering Indian territory. The Rohingya were caught after crossing the Bangladesh border illegally.

The Rohingyas were apprehended by police, who were accompanied by members of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR), after acting on specific information. The police and TSR invaded a residence belonging to one Shahnaj Ali in the district's Ichabpur region and detained a Rohingya family.

Two adults and four children were among those arrested. They arrived in India through Dawki, Meghalaya, and then travelled to Assam. They thereafter boarded a train destined for Agartala and arrived in Tripura.
