BSF RECOVERED CACHE OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION


 On 21 Jan 22, acting on specific tip off, troops of 193 Bn BSF in a joint operation with Meghalaya police launched search operation in the dense forest area all along the Lakma nalla that flows from India to Bangladesh and recovered  cache of Arms and ammunition hidden underground. The area falls under PS Barsora, South West Khasi hills district, Meghalaya.

         The cache of arms and ammunition found wrapped in a yellow color plastic bag which contained a 0.38 USA made revolver, 02 magazines, 410 live rounds and 35 EFC. The surrounding area was also searched thoroughly using metal detector but nothing more could be found. In the past also, hidden arms and ammunition had recovered by BSF which probably used by insurgent groups for extortion purpose and other illegal activities but It is still not known whom this cache belongs to. The place of occurrence is located approx. 1km inside India from International Border and 1.5 Km from BSF BOP Borsora of 193 Bn BSF.

An FIR is lodged against the incident and recovered arms and ammunition are handed over to PS Barsora for further disposal. PRO BSF Meghalaya assured to use BSF intelligence extensively to find more such cache of arms which are often used by miscreants to materialize their nefarious designs.
