 North East Artists to facelift Shilpagram at Guwahati

 

The North Eastern Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur organised the Painting Workshop and Renovation of Pavilions at it’s cultural centre situated in Assam popularly known as Shilpagram. The workshop started on 27th September, 2021 and will conclude on 14th October, 2021 in two batches of a team of five artists from each State of the North Eastern region of India. The first batch is being performed by the artists of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya from 27th October to 4th October, 2021. The workshop is being supervised by Mr Vezwuso Phesao, Exhibition Officer, NEZCC, Dimapur along with his officials from Shilpagram, Guwahati. Every team is required to create the artworks that represent the cultural heritage of their respective State and the young artist participants from Meghalaya are Ericson Majaw, Ferrando Mawrie, Shidalin Chyrmang and Fasterfield Ryntathiang.

 

The artists from each State is being led by it’s team leader and senior artists of the respective states. The Assam team is being led by Mr Manoj Roy, Exhibition Officer, Cultural Affairs Department Government of Assam, Guwahati; the Arunachal Team is being led by Mr Punyo Chobin, Head of Department, Fine Arts, Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar, and the Meghalaya team is being led by Mr Raphael Warjri, Chief Art Director, Riti Academy of Visual Arts. The subsequent batch shal execute their artworks from the 5th to 14th October, 2021, which include a team of five artists each from the rest of the States of Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim.
