ORDER : OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE EAST KHASI HILLS :: SHILLONG

 In view of the rash and negligent driving, dangerous driving and over-speeding resulting to rise in cases relating to motor vehicle accident and driving of motor vehicles by underage students, ICs of all Traffic Branches, Shillong are hereby directed to conduct stringent checking drive on the same and for other MV Act violations at every strategic point within their respective jurisdiction. They are also directed to instruct all the officers and personnel under their command to detain / take necessary action as and when any cases of rash and negligent driving, dangerous driving and over-speeding are reported / noticed. In addition to the above, ICs are directed to conduct regular awareness programme on traffic rules and regulations, remedial measures with regard to road safety (from both drivers' and pedestrians' point of view) for general public in their respective jurisdiction giving special concentration to school / college students to enhance their knowledge on road safety. The report on the above direction must be reflected on the daily morning report as well as to be submitted to the office of the undersigned on a monthly basis. This order shall come into force with immediate effect.
