Villages Declared As Epicentres Of African Swine Fever Disease

 Shillong, May 26, 2023: Based on the test result of pig tissue samples dated 10.05.2023 regarding confirmation of African Swine Fever outbreak in Meghalaya by the North Eastern Regional Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (NERDDL) Guwahati vide letter No AHC-107/NERDDL/ASF/ Result/2022-23/131, dated 10^th May, 2023, the Government of Meghalaya has declared the villages of Gindo Pig Farm in West Garo Hills, Masighat in South Garo Hills,  Syllei U Lar, Madan and Mawlyngkhung in Ri-Bhoi District and Tiehsaw in Nongstoin as ‘epicenters’ of African Swine Fever disease.

This was informed by the Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, AH & Veterinary Department.
