UP minor abducted, raped after wedding called off, Muslim cleric among 9 arrested

 

An 11-year-old girl was abducted and raped by a man in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district. Nine people, including the accused man and a Muslim cleric (Maulana), were arrested in connection with the case.

During investigations, it was found that the minor girl's marriage had been fixed earlier with the accused, Sahil, but the wedding was called off for some reason.Irked, Sahil kidnapped the minor girl from her house with the help of his relatives and later raped her.The incident happened on July 7, after which the girl's family had filed a complaint against five people.
