It's a bird. It's a plane...': Mysterious metal balls raining in Gujarat puzzles locals

 Residents of Sayla village in Surendranagar district have reported that a metal ball (or more than one) fell from the sky recently. Fragments were found scattered across fields. People said they were petrified by the baffling phenomenon.

Over the last three days, strange black and silver metal balls were discovered in Kheda district's Umreth and Nadiad, as well as in three villages in Anand district.

In the wake of these odd incidents, the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) has stepped in. It is a state-run institute under the Department of Space which conducts research on space science.

Preliminary investigation suggests the strange metal balls are debris from a satellite, a source said.
