PASSING OUT PARADE (POP) OF MALE RECRUITS AT ASSAM RIFLES TRAINING CENTRE AND SCHOOL, SHOKHUVI
Achieving a major milestone, 1930 new Male Recruits marched in perfect Rhythm and
Synchronisation and passed out of the parade ground of the Assam Rifles Centre and School at
Shokhuvi in Nagaland on 04 March. The occasion was the special attestation parade to mark the
completion of 44 weeks of gruelling training in battle craft, weapon handling, jungle lane shooting
and other specialization in Counter Insurgency operations.
The passing out parade was reviewed by the Lt Gen PC Nair, AVSM, YSM, Director General
Assam Rifles in the presence of Brig S K Sheoran, YSM, SM, Commandant ARTC & S and other
senior officers of the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles, 281 proud parents and various local civil
dignitaries.
Addressing the recruits, the Director General Assam Rifles highlighted the rich history of the
Assam Rifles as the oldest paramilitary force of the country and its diversified role. He called on
them to inculcate all the aspects learnt during their training and work towards becoming good
soldiers of the battalions that they would join shortly. He also congratulated them and said that
they had made their parents proud today. He also added that they should uphold the traditions
and values of Assam Rifles during their entire service.
The newly passed out Rifleman (Male Soldiers) will now join their respective Units in all frontline
duties and continue to serve the Country thereby making it a moment of glory not only for the
Assam Rifles but also the entire nation.
